Dr Johannes Maehrlein, osteopath
A life-long interest in health and the human body…
With a long-standing interest in natural therapies and after completing paramedic’s training in Germany, Johannes found his calling for osteopathy in 2004 after surviving a near-fatal motorbike crash. His passion for osteopathy was kindled during rehabilitation from serious injuries, guided by a passionate osteopath and now dear friend who opened his eyes to the world of osteopathic manual medicine.
Johannes' treatment approach integrates his passion for cutting-edge natural sciences with an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and physiology. A hands-on approach guided by osteopathic principles combined with education about life-style factors such as nutrition and exercise empowers Johannes' patients to find their way back to their optimum health.
Over the years, Johannes has gained experience working at a number of private practices across Melbourne’s suburbs and has taught myotherapy and personal training students at tertiary level. One of his passions is the passing on of what he knows, so that healthcare may become accessible for all to enjoy.
Johannes is accredited by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australasia (COCA). He continually invests in furthering his professional and personal knowledge and skill-sets. To date, he holds the following certifications:
Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy)
